Well, I am finally finishing up my kick panels that I started about 8 months ago! I just put another layer of mat on them and I will be duraglassing them after they are dry.

Kicks layed out with grill cloth.
 -

One layer of mat.
 -

Adding another layer.

I know you guys like pics, so I'll post updates as I get further along.

Looks to be coming along good. I like the fact you are molding your kicks on instead of just sticking them there. Keep us updated.

x2 lol first thought was, i think im goin to go get stock in sand paper..lol

looks good for first ones, but hey i gotta ask, did u test fit? it seems as if u just overlayed everything over top of the actual kick, now my understanding is that u should get a actual mold of it, meaning get the inside molded, then makea mold ontop of that? ...i guess that could be if u want to just make a whole new piece, and want it all glass'd.

They have been in my car unfinished with speakers in them for about 8 months. Yeah they fit. I will be using a grinder to sand down duraglass and fiberglass, then bondo over that and sand until smooth.

used a grinder with a sanding disk to do most of the primary sanding and shaping. Only did one kick, took about an hour, pretty easy. now I have to bust out the sandpaper!

looken good so far.....

i would like to do some glassed kicks but i hate doing all that sanding!!!!!! thiers only so smooth that a machine can do. [Frown]

all the tine tiny flaws will show up when ya try to paint em for sure!

which is probably why i would just cover them with some thick material and call it a day! [Wink]
but im lazy like that!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I hate those tiny pinholes that you only see after you paint! Oh well, if it happens with these, at least they are just kick panels!
