I have 4grand and have picked an installer I want to do my install. I will be driving to Jacksonville and meeting with him soon.
What would you do with 4K and an 01' Nissan Maxima?
I just sold my 3 solo's to a friend and still have my Alpine MRV540 and two pair of Alpine Type-R components. I will sell them too if I need to. If you are interested in the installer I chose, I will post up his site. Not sure if that is breaking any advertising rules so you tell me.
I also will be needing an in dash DVD CD combo with in dash screen. I have already purchased the new slim PS2 for use in the system.
Please help!! I will research any and all suggestions.
Thanks, Chris

I'll give you advice. I would look for deals rather then paying retail prices for any equipment. You can save yourself an easy Grand if you do the searching for the desired stuff you want.
P.S. For those who want to know the installer this person is using, Please, Contact him by email or Private Message. Thanks.

Digital Designs do not have amplifiers on the market. Resonant Engineering do have amps in their future plans but, they have yet been tested in the competition arena.
Also, you dont know exactly what this guy has in mind for a system, if its SQ or SPL geared.
If i had $4,000 to spend in car audio gear it would be:
Eclipse 3443 HeadUnit Focal Utopia 3 ways Zapco amps (4 channel/2channel) RE XXX12" sub (only 1)
Just my 2 cents.

DD does have a amp on the market.. its the pretty close to the same as the spl3000ext... it may not be commerically available yet but it is out there.

I've payed closr to retail for all my equipment and I'm sitting at over $10,000; most of that is from the Zapco gear.
You need to have a clearer picture than just 'a system'. That term carries different meanings on who you talk to. Hell, most newbies will say 'system' and simply mean they have an aftermarket head unit installed.
BTW, if you're set on a Zapco 9.0, I am selling my 'spare'. PM or e-mail me

I am looking for more SQ/video, as well as SPL. I figure for that kind of money I can achieve a balanced mix. I chose the installer based upon his work and have discussed my plans with him. I am moving back to the Gainesville area and will only be 1.5hrs to his new shop.
As far as DD, I would love to have either 2-9512e's or 1-9515e, but don't know if the 1yr warranty will be honored through said installer.
SoloX12. I think that would require mad alt and charging system upgrade. My last system consisted of three solo12's with an Xtant 1001d. Generic mids and highs with a single disc Alpine head unit. All this for 138db. This is the only reason I am staying away from Kicker for now.
RE is at the top of the list for subs. Also either 2-XXX12's or 1-XXX15. XBL^2 seems very stout as wel as reliable.
Adire's Brahma is close as well. Also XBL^2. Thier site brags about this subs ability to creat good SPL as well as have excelent SQ.
These are my narrowed choices for subs.
BTW I really appreciate everyones interest in helping me. There are so many products out there and everyone has a favorite. All of the suggestions are priceless in my book. Thanks!!
So you guys think I should sell the Alpine MRV540 and the Type-R components?
On to research H/U's

filtor1, why run 2 12's? Save the extra cash and just run a single 15". I say this because 2 XXX 12's will need at least 600 watts each to sound good and get loud in the process. Id just run a single 15" with 1200 watts and have everything you want in a much tighter package, which will look better in the long run i think. Saving money is what this is all about. Most of us veterans to car audio know that saving money and yet still getting the quality gear is where its at. Knowing what you want makes it that much easier to find your deals. Example, I got my RE XXX 12" for $150 Mint Condition never used. Deals baby, deals!

If I had $4,000 to immidiately dispense on my system...I think I'd do two of the new RE subs prolly 18" and a pair of colossus or T3000 and lots of electrical...Don't think 4g's would get me far maybe if RF sells me the T3000's at competitor cost lol.

ok you were under powering the crap out of those subs and let me guess a sealed box? if a pair of 10 solo's can do a 153 in a spl setup you can do low to mid 140's in a decent sql setup.
