OK. I've seen that several members think that the new Market Place "sucks". My fellow moderators have been trying to keep Mr. Harris updated with all the feedback (quite a few threads and links in the mod section).
But, one thing that I've noticed is that the comments are just "This sucks....bring the old forum back [sic]".
Your opinion does count - so any and all feedback is needed (at least IMO - as a writer/developer, I need feedback for my work to improve).
My point is: Don't just say "It sucks". List things that you don't like about it. What would you change. What did you like so much about the other forum(s) that you don't have in the new Market Place. Give Mr. Harris some constructive criticism so that he knows what you're looking for.
Is this a guarantee that things will change? No. But, it could.
#1 loss was how you could keep on posting on a single thread, like how we are here.... on the new forum, you are forced to email the person in order to obtain info.
#2....people are having trouble loging in or keeping there post up(seen a couple say they're timed out as soon as they've been posted)
#3.... you can't use your current sign in id or name, you have to log in seperately
the only way to resolve everyones problems with it.......throw away the market place and re-enter the for sale and wtb forums

I agree with those and would like to add 1 more. Businesses should not be allowed to sell stuff in the marketplace. The whole reason behind the for sale idea was for us fellow competitors to get rid of our excess equipment and for others to get a good deal on used or opened items. We don't need joes audio advertising all the stuff for sale in his shop. If we wanted to buy new from a store we would go to a store. JMO

I don't like how everything is listed in separate catagories. You spend more time searching for what you are looking for. And I also don't like what was said above too.

the forum postings were so much easier and quicker to navigate. one section for the for sale and one section for wanted to buy. it was very easy to ask and respond to questions. it was just about perfect before (a search feature would have been nice that was up 100 percent of the time). and once again, keep out commercial stores and sales. thank you.

For instance, If I wanted to get rid of one of my 1200.1's. I really don't need $, because I am gonna buy something to replace it anyways. Why not just trade it for what I want? Plus, you also can see who has what that they are willing to part with.
Let's say I'm skimming through some random posts and see someone has a woofer they MIGHT be willing to part with...and I want that woofer, well, now I can maybe I can work with him.
I REALLY miss the old marketplace. I've never been too concerned about dealers and stores, it actually helps to get a refernce for the value of your gear.

Thank you for the input. I've put a link in the moderator section, so it may grab Mr. Harris' attention a bit quicker than in one of the "big" forums with lots of posts.
Please keep the input coming in (but please try to keep it constructive, so that way Mr. Harris knows what should be changed and how).

If you wish to view ALL of the items that are listed, click on the "All Catagories Combined" catagory.

Wayne, please reconsider.
I have just added a "Want to Trade" catagory as per your request.

I haven't bothered. I looked and it basically sucks. I made my opinion clear over on Elite forum.
The old classifieds are more like a round table, where people can sit around and talk and ask questions (like specs, etc.). The new one makes it SOOOOO much more impersonal. If you aren't a "poweruser" (know all the specs, pictures, etc.) then you are phucked. Nobody to give you a hand with specs, nobody offering trades, nothing.

I think another point that was brought up elsewhere supporting the old setup was that now, if we have a question we have to email the person. if another person has the same question, he cant read the reply the seller gave me, he has to email him again. This is a big waste of time and energy. People arent going to ask about something they may or may not want to buy depending upon one thing if they have to email the person and wait to find out... loses the impulse shopper. I cant think of how many countless threads caught my attention and i skipped over due to one simple thing that was posted in a reply. if there was a response feature built in to the auction itself it would be a great add on and would likely boost the total hits. and i think setting the default to "view all auctions" mode would be helpful. It seems that some people(myself included) prefer this method. I dont say to disallow it as it may come in handy though.

You might get more out of the man if you offer ideas instead of post like this. You don't get it do you. This is a FREE service..If you don't like it don't use it..
Stop all this "It Sucks" stuff. Not trying to be hard on ya but come on. If you have a problem with it why don't you just e-mail Wayne I'm pretty sure he'd reply to you he always has with me when I had a question.
Why not try coming up with some suggestion's on how to make the MarketPlace better rather then just saying "It Sucks"
