Right now the subs are the MTX 9500'S but hopefully the RE MT'S will mount up in the same screw holes as the MTX on the plexi.. Posts: 205 | From: REZ | Registered: Apr 2003

its still rough, and the subs arent in yet. We are experimenting with different LED colors/configurations so you will see some red, some blue but nothins permanent just playin with some ideas.
a view from the inside with the rear seat dropped (thanks, Caddilac for the FREE cutthru!! )
heres some with the tailgate dropped
Just to let you fellas know this box isnt all me. It is a joint effort between myself and the PIMP ASS PLEXI MASTER Bobby Gately. I designed it, took it to him and told him i wanted to do something special....we Pow-Wow'd for a while and decided what would be kinda tight. He did most of the building and i played his "helper" (im usually the "box" foreman but shanking a piece of 1" plexi by making the wrong move isnt something i wanted to do.....that $hit aint cheap)
More pix as i make some more progress.....lots of other stuff has been done but isnt really "pic worthy" unless you guys like sein wires ran thru door jambs and under carpets...
(remember, i dont work or own a stereo shop so i get what i can done.......when i can) I WISH i had 10-12 hrs a day to work on this but i have a reg 9-5 (6:30 - 4:00) so time is always an issue for me.
Holy crap that is awsome...How much coin do you have invested in 1" plexi? Is that sealed or is it a bandpass?

so far MTX 9500's (he had them already before this was started).
we were thinking RE MT's instead but damn it will be a pain to swap them out since they are mounted in the plexi with wires passing thru in areas sorta designed around the 9500's. I want to do this yet i dont want to. I think im gonna decide once i hear it. Right now the 4kw's are barely finding their way into the truck so the time is coming up soon for the first test listen.

the LED's will be mounted in a 1/8" sawcut reglet in the back 1" plexi panel. They are on a circuit board that is like 1/2" wide by 48" long and holds 48 led's per foot, and can be almost any color imaginable with the twist of a knob up front. By "clicking" the same knob the lights or color chosin will either stay solid, blink, fade, or chase whatever your heart desires. The suede on the box will cover the backside of the LED board so it will be seen but hard to tell where its coming from.

It isnt cheap, and neither is hiring someone to help you who already knows how to work with it (bobby is very good). Im glad im a fast learner and have a little experience with acrylics already so the next one wont be as costly.
It isnt sealed, nor a bandpass.....its ported.

me or chicken LOL.....if your askin me, i am a project engineer for a very large commercial roofing company. I deal with high rise buildings as well as Targets, kmarts, shopping malls, schools, military bases........etc anything on a large scale. I draft roof plans on CAD all day usually and thank god for termpro.....gives me somethin to break the monotony *sp of staring at my monitor all day. This stereo stuff i do is all on the side and usually the few hours after i work all day at my regular job (hence the reason this is taking so long)

ya i guess you could say that.....but ive been at the same company since i was 19 (33 now) and i started out on the roof pickin up trash and basicly a mule. I worked my way up thru all the ranks (not such a mule, second man, forman, then service tech.....till i made it in the "front office") over the last almost 14 years. Kinda a geek in a way since i love technology and electronics but dammit i spent over 10 years on a roof in the hot, cold, wet, freezing and anything else you could throw at me so i guess im a geek that will kick your ass if i have too.
j/k im not gonna do that but i had to flare my feathers out a lil dammit im a geek with tattoos!
