In my cousin's Honda Passport, he has a Kenwood 800w amp powering 2 Kenwood 10's. The HU is a Pioneer DEH-P3500. He says that after an hour of playing, the door speakers just stop playing. If he turns the amp off from the hu, the door speakers come back on. Then if he turns the amp back on after 10 minutes, everything works fine again. The door speakers are runnin off the hu, not an amp.

He inspected the speakers and there are no rips or tears in the cones. It sounds like an HU problem to me, but my uncle says it sounds like the amp is the problem. What could it be?

kinda odd. id have him try to fade the speakers around and see if it comes back on the other speakers.
i know my last car the wires inside the door shorted on the speaker and i just put some tape on the wire that was crossed and it worked great after that.

id just fade around the speakers first but if thats not it and he cannt see any black spots on the speakers tensil wires i wouldnt know. only h/u ive ever had gone bad completly burnt out the interal amp and nothing would play [Frown]

Well you just disable to Sub-out RCA's. You can adjust the volume of it from "off" to like "+10" or something.

But doesn't the amp stay on? It should still have voltage on the remote wire, right? I dunno for sure, but that's what I thought, since that remote is for all amps, including mid/high amps.
