whats something good to clean the plexiglass with that shouldnt leave to much lint? i thought i had it all cleaned out but i guess i didnt spray off the subwoofer good enough and all that pounden freed up the sanding dust and now its stuck on the plexiglass and mirrored plexiglass. [Frown] sucks for sure

i think its turning out preaty good for my first plexiglass, mirrored box. [Wink] id do beter if i spent more time in measuring and cuting the mirrored plexiglass. the thick plexiglass was easy as hell to cut and drill. but that thin stuff gets more tuff [Frown]

not sure what to finish the box off with tho.... either some realy thin carpet or maybe even painted with some designs on it.

what are your guys opinions so far?
just remember ive got quite a bit more work to do to finish it off but the basic of the box is thier and performs nice but isnt as loud as my crapy ported box but it sure puts that intense vibration in my back tho.LOL

What you should have done is vinyled the box and tucked the vinyl into the area wear the plexiglass goes. You then tape off and paint the outside rim of the P-glass so you don't see through it to any of the edges ect, all the stuff you want to hide. You still could do it, but you would have to trim the plexiglass by about 1/8 maybe less on 2 sides, (1/16 all around)

How thick is that glass that its going to handle an 18 with 1400+ watts pounding away on it? It seems like it would end up more like an AP setup [Wink]

two questions:
1)why are you selling the xxx18?
2)why are you putting a xxx18 in a sealed box?

well im selling my truck to get a 2wheel drive truck not sure what type yet. either same but 2x4 or a extended cab pick up.
so with the truck up for sale and people checken out the truck inside and out i wanted a small box so i could easily move it around and take it out when i need to. because unless they want to spend 1,500more for the stereo i wont sell it.LOL
and the amp i REALY wanna keep! i got a killer deal on it, its modded and its in perfect condition! very hard to find for the price i got it for!

only reason id like to sell the XXX18 is because ive decided to finaly upgrade even more. 2 15XXXs ported or sealed. and i want to stay under the window line. and eventualy id get another amp.

the 18 is very nice but needs room to breath [Wink]

i havent finished off the box yet. i want to put some kind of thin carpet. and after i finish off the box with adding some more MDF to just about flush mount the plexiglass and sub and then making a 3 piece cover for it. two parts one for each side and and one whole cover that would go over the amp with it mounted to the top of the box kinda flush mounted and have it go over both the front and back and top part of the box. id posible do a 1 piece but it would be ALOT easier for me to cover the 3 pieces smoothly with no cresses. ive never done any vinyl work so i dont want any difficult stretching to get rid of wrinkles. seen to many horrible jobs on SD.LOL

just an idea right now. first i gotta finish up the outside of the box with mdf and then ill think about covering it. but right now ive got a wicked leak around the top corner of the plexiglass.LOL i need a small piece of foam under it to seal properly, no big deal tho.
