What subs are the best for SPL for around $300. I have heard that the image dynamics ID Max subs are good. Does anyone have experience with these? If i dont get these subs, what should i get? Thanks for any input.

You heard wrong, there are other subs I would choose for straight SPL over the idmax. L7's, SE's, for example. Also, one IDmax will be more than your budget, you could get 2 L'7's for that

The Idmax is designed around SQ, and to give a lil more volume than your normal SQ sub.

I just found this in another thread.....

"RE HCs at $300/pair, but they'll probably sell out Friday or maybe Monday. I ordered 4 more today (Thursday)"

That is the best you could possibly do with your budget, that is a steal provided their are any left. YOu will need a ported box.
