so what ya wanting to know? how to hide the wires up under the roof? or how to power the PS2?
youll need a converter. and is that screen factory? if so you might be able to tap into its video source wires.
what does it have? tunner/dvd...........

the radio has tuner and dvd and i was wondering if there was any way to hook it up without using the red-yellow-white cords so that they wouldnt be showing. is that possible? and i said in my previous post that it is aftermarket.

im still not sure what ya mean.
so all of this is aftermarket equipment.
and you havent mounted the LCD yet?

but if you want to run your wires hidden youll have to run them thru the the truck and above the headliner.

run them exactly like every other wire. depending on where you wanna run your wires, thru the front windshield suport or around the rear suports. your headliner should be down when you instal it.

what i'm asking is if there is any way to get the signal from the PS2 to the screen without using those 3 colored cables because they connect to the screen in the front and this guy i'm gonna hook it up for doesnt like the way that looks, so is there any other way besides that for what i just asked? if not i'll just wire it through the ceiling like you said.

i dont see what the problem is you shouldnt see anywires. your headliner should already be down when instaling the screen. if not for all you know your puting a screw right thru the ROOF!!!!! NOT A GOOD THING!!!!!!!

i just dont get your delima..... you gotta run source wires. thats like running a subwoofer amp but you dont like seeing the rcas.LOL its just stupid................ come on now

Easy, a2b [Razz]

I'm curious, just to clarify, do the standard red/white/yellow cables have to come out of the headliner to plug in to visible jacks if you do it that way? If that's the case, I think that would be what addiction2bass didn't realize. Another thought (and I know absolutely nothing about mobile video): Does the current source (TV tuner, DVD player, whatever) have any kind of input jacks that you could make use of?

edit: fixed minor typo...no biggie...

what kinda screen you even talking about? the screens ive had that was just the monitor and a stand have had a black wire with all of the wires internaly thats about 10ft long then you plug in your RCA wires. and those wires would be hidden up under the headliner.
but if your friends so rich why doesnt he buy a proper fold down lcd with the whole mounting shroud?

also if he is just using a regular stand ya might wanna make sure that the video picture can be fliped. or youll have to modify the casing so the mount comes off the top instead of botom.
ive had several video screens im my last towncar. had a PS2,VCR,CD changer, and tv tunner, and back up camera. i played them thru the head units auxilary input and used a audio/video switcher to select which source i wanted to play the audio and video.

if he doesnt want a cheap video/audio switcher visable.... most tuners have auxilary inputs you can select thru the remote control.

to make it alot easier how about a link to the LCD screen he is gonna be using?

dude when he said hanging from the ceiling, you should asume that its a proper fold down lcd! not a cheap LCD just hanging from the roof.

sorry for Fen assuming hes using a real ceiling mounted lcd.

if ya post a link to what kinda lcd your gonna use that would help out alot! even a model number.

needs to more descriptive!!!!!!!
kinda like saying how do i wire a subwoofer. hello anyone should needs more info than that or its just guess work!

I'm with Navi on this one...

Anywho, the PS2 needs to use the "yellow, red and white cables" to transmit the video and audio. Simply put, it has to.

Now, depending on the screen being used, is what it's gonna look like. If the screen has extra inputs on the front, then the PS2 cables need to plug in there. If the screen has an extra Din-style cable, then, they wll need to plug in there.

For power, you will need an invertor to convert the power to 110 AC.

Without a picture, or a link, that is all the useful information I can pass alon.

Then just ask for more information. In a civilized manner. I don't think that's too much to ask.

dont know if this is dead or not but....your DVD/ what ever should be into some kind of signal processiong box (small box all the wires to go it) and it should have aux RCA inputs, normaly that is hidden somewhere in the car, plug the PS2 to that box and when you go to AUX it should run the Image/sound from the PS2, but i dont know what equip you got/who installed it so i cant really help any more then that.
Good Luck
