Anybody know anything about the JL Audio component speakers. I am considering a set of the XR653-CS which is a 3 way system using a 6.5" driver. I am looking to push them with a RF 200.4 (25w RMS per channel) using the front two channels. Also considering similar units from Focal or Quart. Is there a real advantage to going with a 3 way system over a two way system?
Also considering some subs to go along with the components. Thinking two JL 8W0-8 powered by the RF 200.4 (100w RMS bridged) using the back two channels. Or a single JL 10W0-4 with the same power.
This is going into a small car so space is a consideration (no 15's will fit). I know the power of the current amp is a bit weak, but I have to leave some room for future upgrades.
Thanks for any help!

they sound very pretty, i mean VERY pretty! they just dont get very loud like bostons and focals, but they sound as clean if not more. i had 2 sets, sold one. the other set is for sale, you will have to replace the passive xovers tho, it doest like 225 watts per channel! xovers will cost ya around 100 bucks for the set, and i am selling the components for 200 bucks to compensate for that. like i said tho, they are clean as hell but the just dont have the volume like boston pros or the 1700buck focal set does, but i guess thats the price you pay for clarity! email me, will talk to ya more about them, k! shanechristiansen@hotmail.com or HCCAfan on AIM(aol) IM.

ps, by going to a 3 way system, the advantage is that you split more of the path to certain speakers designed to handle certain freq.'s, like what do you think would sound better, 1 6inch speaker playing all the freq.'s or 1 1inch, 1 4inch, and 1 6inch playing the same tones? easy nuff!
