If you're running USAC extreme division, I see that as working well. It would cause some cancellation, but it may "sound" better than a wall, even though it may not meter better. From the vehicles I've heard with similar style boxes, you get lots of vibration and "feel" but they don't meter that well unless the mic is near the enclosure.

well, my only idea is that maybe you wou gain a little something with compression of the air with the woofers so close??? Posts: 881 | From: michigan | Registered: Aug 2001

well 152 is nothin i would cry about but yes i think he could have done better, i think the only reason he didnt do a wall is because of teh fact of no rear veiw mirror!

I think they were going for the WOW factor in which yeah it did look good considering that system lasted only a few months in that jeep due to the ammount of WEIGHT and electrical system not being able to keep up... My advise... Go Rockford... Replace the xpl's with hx2's (same price range) and throw in 2 bd1000's Yeah whatever!

that is a loaded box, meaning the woofers are pressure loaded. its loud as hell to the ear and to everyone within 3 city blocks, but meters dont like loaded systems for some reason, and i hate that because it kicks a$$ for sound!
