Yeah, very bad ass subs. I have two in one very extreme box off four 2000Xs and am also now a US distributer for GZ. What are you guys running? Give me a couple details about your setups.
Oh, and definately not like the Lightning subs, though the proto Lightning subs was similar to its little brother the Nuke. And they are made in the US by TC Sounds, but the engineering and design was done in Germany by GZ

One more thing, what frequencies was the pluto in the movies playing? Looked just like a sine sweep to me? I had never really seen the passives before either. They look nice, like three subs instead of the lone one actually there.

They don't currently produce an 18", but they could come out with one at CES as I will not be able to attend this year and am not yet aware of the 2002 line.
Sid, the GZ being discussed in that thread is not the one we are discussing here. They have no relation except for the name that the German GZ borrowed from the American one while they were still a distributer for the American brand. They decided to start a company with the same name after taking a long look at the nonexistant customer service of the brand(then again I would get sick of waiting a year for the products to come in as well. The American GZ may now have gone under, indeed you can only operate a business so poorly for a limited time, but the German GZ is very much alive and well

Both the Plutonium and Nuclear series' are only available in 15"s. The Pluto 15 retails for about $1500 in the US. They can be had for much cheaper, but shipping is still high. Email me if you are really interested. thanks, Luke

There are actually VERY few of these subs or other products in the US. The price of them, not to mention the high shipping and lack of dealers greatly contributes to this. Hopefully with lower prices and more available dealers these amazing product can gain exposure in the US

Hi guys, I have been using the Ground Zero products for the last 12 months in the uk, and so far are very happy with the results. I started with two-15inch plutonium’s with a nexus lion amp on each sub, I built an enclosure that was way to small but I wanted to go with the no wall rule and the thing was literally built on the day of a competition, all the components of the system were taken to the show and assembled on site. I came 3rd place. I then realized that this gear as got real potential. I have tried 1 Pluto with 2 passives, result 143 db at 25hz I have sat in a car at 155 db at 60hz and that hurts, but them low numbers really do shake the **** out of you. Any way I have climbed the ladder a bit since then, I have got rid of the passives, but don’t knock them, if you want street bass and a bit more sound quality, they are definitely the way to go. Back to the subject, now I am using only the drivers. The two Pluto’s are installed in a b.m.w. E30 with an 18ft enclosure, port not yet sorted, and I managed to do 154.7 db @40hz with dead batteries and the terminal post on the battery was completely burned away. Next season will really rock, 12 Hydros in a E34
