Alright...here's the situation.

Most everyone in here knows that I have those 8 dayton 10's in my car now.

I'm running my 200.2 @ 4 ohm mono to all 8 of them. They're each getting about 60 watts each.

I really want to get rid of them and go with just a pair of 15's (either jlw0's or rf xlc's). It's not that I'm not satisfied with the 10's..but that I'd like some space in my trunk.

Also..I'd like to compete in some sound shows...but I'd never win with the 10's I have because I've heard just a pair of 12's that weren't far down from what my setup sounds like.

I was wondering if a pair of 15" xlc's or jl 15w0's could compare to my 8 10's? I've heard that the paper cones get more spl. And I know that the rf's have more cone area..though the jl's beat them out excursion wise. Which pair should I get? They cost about the same I think.

And should I run the amp 4 or 2 ohm mono? I don't want to overheat it..but I know that the xlc's could handle the power @ 2 ohms. And I hope my alternator can give off the power it needs to put out when the amp is running that low.

i'd have to put them in 3ft^3 sealed each though.

i don't know about the transient response of 18's though

I run my subs 80hz down...how do your's sound tech?

Dude,

I might be able to get you hooked up with either a pair of RF Punch (at least 1 year old from Box That Rocks 15" 2-way box) or a damn-near new set of CV Vegas (15")

Let me know and I'll start some talking.

UB,

See what you can get going over there man.

I've never had Vega's...but I've always wanted the 15's!!

I'll trade all 8 of my 10's in the boxes if they want to trade...hehe

how am I gonna power those vegas? They take 500 rms each! I have enough power with my amplifiers..but my alternator would go out on me. Do you think they'd run ok @ 2 ohm mono off 1 200.2?

I do like the excursion on them though...
