As you may know, I own a '91 Ford Taurus. In my Taurus I have 4 12" kicker competition subs in an Isobaric Bandpass enclosure ported through my rear deck with an 8" port. These are powered by an Earthquake 200DHC amp, which makes them sound real strong.

(just to give you some background: The box was designed on a computer program, then with CAD, so the box rox)

The bad thing is that this box has never got my above 151.6 db. It plays really low and hard (with my loudest note around 44Hz), but I don't feel that it is loud enough for me.

At the time I went with that box, I wanted to keep my rear seats. Times are a changin'.

What I want to do is sell my subs (keep my amp), and build a wall with 2 15" Stroker DVC's. That way, I would be in both the lower classes for competition. (Currently I am in the 3-4 woofer class @ Circuit City Comps, and the 360.99-720.99 sq in class for normal IDBL) With the strokers, I'd be in the 1-2 woofer class and 1-360.98 sq in IDBL class.

I feel that the 200DHC will power the strokers for now until I add (if I want) another Earthquake.

My main question: Can those two 15" strokers put me at the 155db mark? (or even close?) I did a rough measurement of my back seat and I can basically use 28 cubic feet.

I definately need feedback because these 12's really kicked ass, but I'm not getting the results that I want.

I got the money to do the Cerwin Vega's...just need some input.

Thanks very much...

From what I read, you should be able to hit around 155 if it is built right.

Just a thought, why not have both the kickers, and the strokers in the wall, and have one hell of a system. Just a thought.
Good luck man.

Neat Idea,

but then I would be even in a higher class... which is really what I don't want.

Though, 4 12's and 2 15's in a wall is Krazy.

Thanks

Doing over 150 is pretty impressive considering that the 12" iso pairs only present 2 cones for SPL.

Good luck on your quest.

Dukk,

I was thinking the same thing. I could see 4 12's doing it. But 4 in iso is like 2. And 150 is LOUD for 2 12's!!!
