Well I am thinking of changing my system in the next week or two. Droping from the 3-4 class to the 1-2 class. And was wondering what you guys think.
I am thinking 2 15 Power DVCs ported in the hatch of my talon. Now the question is I am not real familiar with those subs and would like you advice on power. The subs look like they would take tons of power. I think I am going to give the Rockford amps a try. Maybe an 800a2 on each one. I have never owned any of their stuff and was thinking why not give them a try...
I know what some of you are thinking.... It's about Time.

I just dropped a pair of 800a2s onto a pair of Power DVC 12s in a customer's car. Aside from the box doing the jiggle wiggly (not one of my boxes!) and the voltage dropping to 9V on a big hit, it works pretty well. One the guy steps up for a new box, and 2 more batteries he's gonna hurt!

If you do not go with rockford, you need your head examined. Those subs are the shit. Even with only 800 going to each, they will beat the hell out of most of the people's systems. If ya still need some advice, check out thumpins homepage, and look at his crx, it is the shit.
Don't turn your back on the wolfpac, or you might get bit.

They've always made good/great gear, and now with their price drop, more people can enjoy their products. I was happy with my RF system.
However, may look into MTX or Orion for next system just to be different . RF is top knotch quality, especially for the mid price range that they have entered into. Who knows, maybe this will make the others increase their quality for fear of losing all customers to RF .

This is directed at Tech and Duck, but anyone feel free to answer.
As you can see I am going to be buying the pieces to an almost all Rockford system. However I don't have any real knowledge of their products. Amps in particular. My main question is about the Punch VS. Power advantage. I see their is different crossover slopes on each amp which isn't that important to me. However I was wondering about the power suppply and output stages. Is the Power series all that much more rugged? Will the Punch series run 2Ohm mono as well as the Power? And is it true that all of the 800's Punch and Power, a2's and a4's are all the same size as the 1100a2? From their web site it looks like it is.
The main thing I want to know is there any major differences in the amps. Cosmetically or technically speaking.
Thanks in advance you Rockford Fanatics.

Well, I don't deal with the newest line everyday yet since I don't work for a dealer or anything but I could see no significant difference in power and reliability. Just some SQ type of changes. And I really don't think IMO that the extra money is worth it. If they were closer in price, maybe. Dukk should be able to help much more than I here.

Aside from the steeper Xover slopes, and the remote bass knob, the Power 800 and Punch 800 are identical. Power, impedance capability, etc are all similar. The Power's only a little more, though, and may be worth the mystique that comes with a Power amp....

I am building an all RF system... I have a punch 800a2, a 600a4, RFX-8130 cd player, and a symmetry EPX-2 with the 28 band 1/3 octave eq... Let me just say SWEET!!!, I am planning on adding 4 punch dvc 15"s, 2 power 1100a2 (which I was told has a dual power supply and a few other goodies which I don't remember), 2 8" midbass and of course Fanatic Q 6.5"s... My 800a2 has put out more than 1400watts and I still haven't pushed it yet... You will NOT be dissapointed with Rf gear!!! I love it all and will probably never change brands again...
