I was looking at the ppi pc amps and was interested in the 2600 or the 2400. the 2600 says 600 x 1 at 4 ohms and the 2400 says 400 x 1 at 4 ohms. It does not say anything about dropping these amps down to 2 ohms bridged. Can I run the 2600 or the 2400 at 2 ohms and get more power? Any fatal consequences? I was also looking at 3 12s. It would either be the w3s, w6s, or pc 12s. Suggestions anyone? I am new to this and any help would be GREATLY appreciated! The main differences between the two amps you are looking at are: The PC2600 is fan cooled, and more power..
The PC2400 is not fan cooled . but the same features
Both amps are regulated power supplies with you will recieve the measured output of the amps if you give it 10volts to 15 volts
I have run the Power class series at 1ohm stereo/2ohm mono but made sure that all things were done prioir to putting the amp under this much stress..
Upgraded Alt..2g wire etc etc etc...
They will run at this impedance but I will not recommend it ...It puts the amp and electrcial system under alot more stress...and you can bet that you will get less life out of the product!
My advice..If you want more power out of the PC amps...buy a bigger amp!! Look into the PC1800..800watts @ 2ohm and is a mono amp or PC21400...1400watts @ 4ohm mono
