ok.. i need some kind of way to go here, with the way myshifter sits in my car, its right in front of my deck... i was thinking about incorporating a few of the major funtions into the wrap of the shift knob
volume, source and audio controls maybe.. since the remote it comes with is a small slimline remote, might i be able to jus dissasemble it and place the mini buttons under the surface?
any ideas on average costs of this setup... reasonable i mean
THANX
Ryan

Hmm I dunno about that shifter idea. Idunno what kind of shifter you have but mine is solid. And know how luck goes you well probably try to shift and hit the volume knob and find your ear start to bleed. Some other usefull places and easier places are the steering wheel since in most cars it is just metal case wrapped with whatever and you can just put at your stuff nice and safe inside the case. Also you may be able to put it next to your shifter depending on the car. ANyway Goodluck

I think if I were you, I'd try to relocate my deck up higher in the dash. Other than that, I could see some safety problems with the shifter idea. How easy would it be for someone to knock the car out of gear grabbing for the shifter to change tracks or volume? Pretty easy I'd guess. Think about remotes in the steering wheel and in the passenger door instead.

Touch the controls once and get a warning, next time I start breaking fingers.

Seriously though I would consider moving the deck up if you can. The shifter probably causes problems with loading cd's
