Ok I was wanting some tips on spl. Ive been doing this for a while and to be honest I know some basic stuff. I think there are a lot if rumors about what to do to get loud but a lot of it is my buddy told me kind of stuff.I do under stand that a lot of a spl vehicle is vehicle specific but there is a lot that isnt. So I was curious about a few things like what port to box ratio are people having luck with. What are some good ways to test things to get louder. Maby an overall explination of what to try to acheive and how to test to get to that point. I would this could become a thread that would be helpful to may people. thanks to everyone on here for your holp thus far.

well there are many things to look into most importantly would be to decide what you want out of your system!! most people say that they want a daily and an SPL setup sad to say that is not very realistic!! it can be done but it takes the right setup and a good understanding of the whole SPL game! you also have people that say " just add more power" but that is not always the case. Power will help but only to a point. I would say that to start with the BIG 3 is a must for any application. then building the right box for what ever style that you choose. then look at subs and amps. one thing to keep in mind that a lot of people pver look is they build a box for one type of sub they they buy new subs and put them in the same box. most of the time this is ok but every sub is differant and might be louder in a differant box. so a good sub choice is always inportant. Things to look at would be the Fs and the Bl on the specs for the subs. the lower the Fs the more of a daily sub in most cases the higher the FS the more of an SPL sub it is. When looking at the Bl the lower the Bl the less power it will need to move the cone and the higher Bl will need you need more power just to get the sub moving. all of that ties into the battery back up for your sytem. I am sure that most people will agree that you can never have enough batteries!! good luck to you and if there is any thing I can do to help just let me know.
