I am doing a system in a Polaris Ranger for my gf's dad. The Polaris has an alternator, but I don't know how well it will charge the battery(s).

Can I run a second battery and isolate it from the main, but still let it charge from the alternator when the vehicle is running?

Any other ideas???

Also, the alternator says "500 watts" on Polaris's site.
