alright guys, i wanna cover some stuff w/ the pro's over here. first of all, i've been coming over here alot for information for the past year or so, but never joined. so i finally joined because it seems like the most intelligent people in the sport are over here, and there is stuff to be learned. i'm a member on fiberglassforums.net, caraudioclassifieds.org, and caraudio.com, under the same name
anyways, i'm doing a new build in my truck. here's a list of equipment
4 cascade designs omega 18" either a soundigital 16kd, 2 8kd's (not decided yet) in a 2000 silverado extended cab. amps and batts will be in a toolbox in the bed of the truck
i'll be walling it. goal is to have a LOUD daily driver/groundpounder tuned low. i have one box design built and i was going to start working on it, but i decided against it. it was basically a standard ported "box" 20 cubes tuned to 35hz. i want something different than the generic wall. there are just so many different designs to work w/ that it would be a shame to put that much equipment in a standard wall
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

different as in how, a wall is just a big ported box. Are you looking for a different port placement?

what do you guys think about interchangable ports? alot of the feedback i'm getting is basically that a flat wall design is going to be the loudest, flatest response, w/ subs on passenger side, ported out the drivers side. any thoughts?

Was your last design with the port in the middle dividing the 4 18's?? A recent design I have seen was with the port along the top side of the enclosure. Seemed to be better placment rather than on the drivers side. The user has the same truck as yourself. I think if your building a groundpounder and ocassionally bassrace the truck I dont think an interchangable port is needed.

that's true. i think a straight up street beat/ bassrace design would be better, because I really don't plan on burping it, atleast not w/ this same setup. what would be, if any, advantages or gains to having the port there? I've heard drivers side is loudest.
