my 1st time here so please bear with me. ive been out of the car audio loop for sometime now since early 2000. used to go for SPL back when i had 4-15in strokers in back of a 2door 89 pontiac grandam. to when i only had 2 in my Astro. since been mostly unemployed and few years ago alot of my stuff was stolen.
now ive sold everything ive had over the last 10+ years and starting from scratch. i now own an 03 vw gti w/ 2din monsoon factory system and dont want anything to extreme as i want to try to keep everything under $3000 but want it to sound as good as i can afford it.
went to shop i went to bak when i had my grand am done and his lineup has changed most i know from bak then. such as eclipse cuz thats the only HU line ive been using for the past 10yrs which he still carries.
currently he has ARC Audio, Focal, Eclipse, JL and some other brands which i dont care much for.
basically i gonna use eclipse HU most likely, eager to learn more bout the avn726e that is comin out. my car has 6.5 in front door wit 1in tweet by mirrior, back has same sizes also. guy at shop was pushin arc component alot, i havent heard em at all since he doesnt have any kind of brands on display at all.i did end up checking out Focal site and saw some pretty good options on 6.5 2way sets. overall thinking bout maybe 2 - 6.5in Arc component sets an arc 4ch KS 300.4 amp an not using a sub or maybe use 2 sets of the lower model 6.5 focal component sets, an arc ks900.6 wit a single 8in/10in sub that doesnt take much space, was also thinking of using some Audioque components and a single 10in sub
i would like to hear others opions and suggestions as to other things i can add or use in place of some things like eq's n such.
