Hi all. Kind of new to all this but know a few things. Been doing a lot of research on 6.5 mids and tweets. Still don;t know what is the best for my budget and sound preference. The front speaks will be run by a Zapco DC350.2 amp with internal processor.
two ID10D2 V.3 subs in sealed enlosure, 1.8 cuft. Ran by a Zapco ref. 500.1

The vehicle is a 02 F-150 reg. cab.
I listen to everything but mostly softer rock, (pearl jam type), blues, electronica, soul/r&b

Budget for front speaks is about $500.00 give or take.

My friend competed a few years ago and is tying to help me with this, but he has been out of mobile audio for awhile, so he does not know what is out there.

Brands I have been looking at are; morel, Image dynamics, cadence, rainbow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah, that would be nice to hear them speaks.

I looked at the Dynaudio MW 162 mids. pretty nice. at the site they show a graph using them free air but I cant make sense of it. Not bad priced, will be bout the same as Hybrids after buying tweets.
Hey probably a dumb quest, but what is IB....

your going to know the frequency curve before this is over, lol.i like flat responce.hum, pretend your driving on the broken cement of the bay area with all those nasty dips and peaks from one block to the next, the road can roll up and down a bit.doesnt matter so much as if it is smooth like driving the autoban,no uneven cracks sending you all over the place you shouldnt be.understand?easier to tune.ill show you on my rta.i know what a nice rta looks like.no prob.i am not the one to explain this, lol.can ya tell.
i looked at it.ive seen flatter.bumby top end looks like to me imho.look at the curve like its an equalizer.low to high

oh ya it does, lol.on the money d-bass!!the goal jim is to use that flatness to build a nice curve with as little e.q. as possible using correct air space.or vent and crossover point.youll be tuning against reflections and all kinds a crap that gives peaks.yep,it may respond flat on paper.as soon as the sound wave from your kick hits you parking break bammo, reflection.and the tuning fun starts.that is why mines redone to be out of the way and material is under my dash.to reduce reflection.31 eq bands on all channels helps in that case for comps..when i did iasca i only had to adjust 200k boost on one side and 1.6 just because, lol.,those were my problem frequencies.you want to set it up so theres as little use of eq as possible.well, till ya change the cd or some vile mp3.lol.
yep, thier speaker curves and your rta curve,2 different things,.

Focal KF series should be in that budget as well as the Ultra components. The Ultras are amazing and a great value. I run them in all four of my cars and just recently sold my focal Utopia and Focal KP to replace them with the Ultras. www.ultrasubs.com

Ok, looked at the ultras, very nice. They have a high total Q, which should work well in doors. I like the fs too. How do the tweeters compare to Focal, I have heard that focal tweets are a little harsh.

I think components are out of the quest. as my amp has an internal processor. It is a 2 channel and from what i understand I will need to get another 2 channel in order to Bi-amp and have a active system with a 2 tweet/ 2 mid setup. Correct me if i am wrong.

My friend has an RTA so tuning will not be a problem

Already have the 2 channel and the 4 channel dosent put out enough watts. So I will get another 2 channel amp with processor but 50 rms x 2 I think its the way to go for an active system seeing as I alredy have the 2 channel. Another 2 ch. is 350.00 for 50 rms and 450.00 for 100 rms.
