I was looking at a box from MTX that has 1 10" slim line + 1 10" radiator instead of a port. I figured that it wouldn't be too terribly difficult to build one with another brand of speaker. But, wasn't sure if there was a benefit to port over radiator & vice versa.
Going for slimline application. Music: Rock - Metal. Power: 250 - 300 WRMS. Daily driver, not looking to compete, just add some thumpitude to the Montero Sport (2k3 4-door; Explorer / 4Runner type SUV).

The only benefit that I am aware of is when space is tight, passive radiators can be a good solution and still deliver great sound, especially for what types of music you have mentioned. You won't get crazy low bass @ high db's but you got the picture.

Danke. That's what I needed to know. Not looking for insane #s, but just enough to let me know that Lombardo & McBrain are still parts of their respective bands.
