I have an 03 eclipse that originally came with the infinity sound system which has been entirely replaced. The stock alternator produces 85A and the stock battery holds up to 90Ah although I don't know the instantaneous current it can produce. What is the best way you recommend getting a consistent about 1.2kW to my speakers without stock voltage dropping? This needs to be done on a budget as I'm going to be paying for this on internship money. Admittedly, I do not know the voltage currently being produced and cannot find out since my car is about an hour's drive away during finals.
My current midrange amp is an Alpine 160W X 4 (don't know exactly which one) and my current sub amp is a Hifonics Brutus 1205D. My thoughts are to put in a pair of JL 10w3v3's (since I can get them at cost ) in parallel with each wired at 2 ohms. I know the installer, so they will both be placed in custom sealed enclosures at less than normal cost to me (don't know the actual cost as I haven't discussed it yet). According to what I've read on this forum, I get the impression that the Brutus will push 1.2 kW into 1 ohm if I can maintain 14.4V. My interest is to only maintain about 1kW so I don't really mind dropping into the 13V range. This is for daily listening so I probably won't maintain 1kW except when I'm showing my car off to a friend or I feel like setting off car alarms. I know the battery needs to be replaced soon, so any battery recommendations would be great as well. Replacing the stock alternator would probably cost more $$$ than I'm willing to spend, but if it has to be done then so be it.
As an aside, I welcome anyone with experience (at least in an attempt) at eliminating interior rattling in a 3rd gen eclipse to give suggestions. The interior in this thing is pretty much a pile of crap but it's all I've got for at least a few years so I need to see if I can make due. I'm willing to give up extra power out of my sub to make ends meet if it means better quality sound inside my car.
Any extra suggestions would also be welcome as I still don't know all that much about car audio.

I have a Stratus R/T, which is the same car. I can maintain voltage up to 13.1 with 1k watts by simply adding an additional battery, like the BATCAP 2000 or Kinetik 1800.

Unless I'm missing something pretty big, I fail to see how a Mitsubishi Eclipse and a Dodge Stratus R/T are the same car.
Thanks for the battery suggestions though as I really have no clue what is what when it comes to car electronics.

he's right. even the chrysler sebring coupe is an eclipse. The stratus/sebring platform was three forms. coupe, sedan, and convertible. they were totally different cars.

if you look at an eclipse and a 2dr stratus side by side they are very similar

Interesting, I knew they copied the 3000 GT with the Stealth because, well, how could you not know? But I didn't realize they were copying other Mitsubishis as well. Learn something new every day.

I'm thinking about going for something that will easily fit with no issues into my main battery compartment. It seems that the Kinetik HC 1400 was made to replace the OE battery in mitsubishis. What are your thoughts on the Odyssey PC1200? I've read where at least one person put it up against a Kinetik HC 1400 and it outperformed on holding voltage under load.
I might get another battery later if I don't like the overall performance of my system. Once upon a time, I could set off car alarms on less than 500W with a JL 500/1 and a 10w7 in a HO enclosure. All of this on the stock battery. This was back when trunk space wasn't an issue. Eventually, trunk space and cash became issues so now that I'm going to finally have the money to do something real, I'm going for a custom enclosure so I can save space. I still miss that setup though.

I had a 2k4 dodge stratus R/T with the 3.0 and the motor was stamped Mitsubishi.. couldn't find a chrysler badge on it at all...
And the interior pieces were exactly the same.. interchangeable.. along with most electronics, and springs, (I got the eibach's for the eclipse, as they were 50 bucks cheaper, and the same part number.....) and the whole suspension pretty much..
