ok i have 2 15"L7 and a us amps 2000x. factory battery and optima yellow top and bat cap. batts in the trunk, blah, blah, still maintian volts of 13's. have a soundstream BX-15 but not installed yet. now this is in an 08 cobalt and i had to go from ported box to sealed, poop. right now the subs are all the to the back of the trunk and facing the rear seats. it's sounds kinda crummy and is not hitting like it did, now i know i went from ported to sealed but this is a huge step down, i mean i heard to 15 CVR in a sealed box in a wagon beat lower and louder. help before the subs get there a$$es busted.

I've personally never liked kicker l5 or l7 sealed. Not impressed. Med to large ported- youre in business. Just my opinion though. Good luck maybe try a little bigger of a box, 1.75 ft^3 each maybe each.

the problem i have with the box aside from small and sealed is that the largest opening to my trunk will only allow 13" tall. i was thinking of designing a ported box that is 13 tall something like 34" wide and 40" deep. the subs will now face the trunk lid and ports will face well where ever i want them. i think i'll try making the box out of cardboard first just to be sure it fits, not to actually use. do yall think that will work alright. and where should the ports face.

Not really. Maybe too much woofer for that tiny ass box space. The box is the problem, prefab is part of the problem but that box is just under the bare minimum kicker specs for a sealed box. If you have money to get real equipment why not spend some money to get a real box. A real big box. Or get some different subs that work in a tiny box.

Try inverting the subs if it will still fit, giving u a little more internal volume.

As far as L7's,they are great subs. U just got to find the right enclosure for it. The squares dominate spl stock classes in USACI org.
