Alright.Im from philippines and i need help from you guys and some veterans here in building SPL set-up.hopefully finish the set up this year so i can compete. [Big Grin] my choices are atomic Apxx 15" or DD9515g for sub(1 sub).for the amplifiers will be Soundstream XXX-6500(can the 9515g handle 65000rms?),Stetsom 7kD,or A6000GTI.Im also thinking to get a 300 alt.do i have to change my battery?can 1 hc2400 hoodbatt do good? [Confused] Any set-up in mind??? oh and what class should i go?
thanks in advance for the help.any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. [Smile] [Wink]

What class are you thinking of running in? you may need more battery power if you want to get the full power from any of those amps. The subs, The APXx's are their top of the line subs.. great subs bar none. If you go with the DD's, get the kevlar cones.. NOT THE REGULAR PAPER ONES! As for the alt, if your gonna run is street or streetmax, the alt would be useless, reason being is that your car won't be running.

Kinetik 2400's are excellent batteries, I would suggest that you got to their site and try their cell calculator.
http://www.kinetikaudio.com/calc.asp
follow the directions and check your results.

As for what class to run in.
http://www.termpro.com/dbdrag/rules/index.asp?Page=2
check out the matrix, figure out what would be best for your level and enter there. My personal advice would be for you to start at the entry level and learn the game, your car, your equipment etc.. then work your way up. If you start to high, its easy to get crushed due to experience and /or equipment setup.

to make a long story short, learn the game, the players and your equipment and you will be the best. GOOD LUCK! and welcome to the game. [Big Grin]

Phil, I never competed in street A, over here in Japan, we only have Super Street and Extreme. Street A is a good place to start, as for the big 3, its always good to do if your gonna have a powerful system in your car. As for best amp..that is your choice. What I may consider the best amp may not be the best for your setup! When you start looking at top of the line products,it starts to boil down to Name choice, Customer Service and Price. Oh, we can't forget PRICE!! I myself use Hifonics / Crunch and Cactus Sounds.

As for Street A. I would check out the comps and what people are running. Your amps are pretty big. remember you will need space for your box, amp, wires and anything else that is allowed in Street A.

I just checked the matrix. you can't use 15's in street A.

"Street A – 1-12, 2-10’s, 3-8’s / Maximum of 1 amp (or 2 monoblock amplifiers) – 2 Conductors Total between amp rack and sub enclosure"

I may be wrong but, when charging your batts, they will go to 14v, but will float down to maybe 13v.
if you check many street a people, they have 1 large battery under the hood with many runs of 0/1 gauge wire to the amps, reason being is that they are trying to get as much power to the amps as possible! I wish I could help more but thats about all I know.

Question, what products are hot over there now? and do you have a dealer for atomic or hifonics? [Wink]
