I drive a 1996 honda accord with 6x9 infinity reference in the back and 6 1/2 up front, all ran off a 800watt kenwood amp. I want to put some 6x9s in the front because, frankly, they sound better then 6 1/2s. What work is it going to take to make a 6 1/2 hole into a 6x9 hole? I love my infinitys, so I will keep those in back, but what other 6x9s sound comparable to those? compare and contrast kinda thing, thoughts and comments please. Thanks!

Why not go with components in the front? I don't know what your car audio history is but, normally 6x9's sound great in the rear deck of the car because it has the trunk to use as an enclosure. The doors are never gonna have that low end without some help and some good components. Just my 2 cents.

I second the components Idea in the front, if your not scared of cutting your doors for 6x9" why not try to fit 8" in there and run a 3 way system.

That would be a solid set up. 8" 5" and tweeter? Personally I prefer a good set of front stage speakers and could care less about rear as long as I have a sub. My Camaro had a 3-way MB Quarts setup with the 6" in the door and the 4" and tweeter in the kick. I loved it. No rear fill at all. I built my S10 with Boston Acoustics Pro Series 3-way set up the same way. Probably gonna redo it though and make custom enclosure for the door.

I run 7", 4", 1". sounds good, but it'll be way better going from headunit power, to a full 200rms per door. plus I have 6.5" coaxials, with an extra tweeter in the very back of each door, as a front for any rear passengers...as if anyone would ever sit back there.
and those coaxials in the rear suspension posts...

I like it that on my deck i can turn on and off the deck's amp...so I can run my front stage, or if I want loud and "lower quality sound" I can crank them all up.
