I have a 15.2 orion hcca and im gonna run a crunch gp3000d.....wired down to 1 ohm i saw test numbers on the amp and it says 3200 at 14 volts...heres my question.......185 amp alt gonna do the big 3 all with 0 guage.....then from car battery (red top) run 0 guage from batt. to 250 amp fuse then to relay isolator from isolator to secondary battery all zero gauge still.....then from secondary battery about 8" off run 0 guage to a 2 fused distributer block (fuses being 1- 250 amp and 2- being 80 amp) from the 250 amp run 0 guage to 3000watt amp.....and from 80 fuse run 4 gauge to 800 watt amp for mids and highs.....3000watt amp will have a cap in between distribution block to amp in 0 guage......i was wondering if this would be a good set up or is it overkill....im trying to get at least 14 volts to the main amp and i wanted a second batt. CAUSE IM NOT SURE IF JUST A BIGGER ALT AND A RED TOP OR MAYBE EVEN A BLUE TOP WOULD BE ENOUGH...ITS A EVERYDAY DRIVER AND DONT PLAY IT UNLESS THE CAR IS ON. ...keep in mind my car has alot of electrical digital ac and dash its a 2000 grand marquis.....please let me know if this is to much tthanx in advanced.

so keep all the batteries the same, and don't play the stereo with the car off.

I agree with D-Bass , I never use isolators. If you do play it with the car off charge the batts back up with 2 amp charger overnight. Not overkill I always overkill justr in case I decide to upgrade l8r to more power.
