i always use Ported and Have done well with it! and with three 12's I would go much larger than 1.3 cubes maybe 1.3 per sub!! if not more!

O.K. if you want this for a daily drive here is what I suggest. Remember this is my thoughts! Take some measurments of you box area see what you have to work with. Then go to www.reaudio.com they have a box builder put in your measurments to get the Cubic feet you need then adjust port to get you tuned around 38Hz. Massive say 1.3 per sub I would build the box 4.5 to 5 Cubes thats if you run three subs. 2 subs I would go with 3 cubes. You have to account for displacement. There box designer works great or it has for me. Keep in mind this will be tuned a little low for SPL but you should sound good and do O.K. at shows.
