A few weeks ago, due to gas prices, I purchased a 1991 Honda Civic. The two rear speakers were old and barely worked, and the front two were completely gone. So I bought two Boss 6.5" Chaos speakers, and my girlfriend gave me a couple of new Street Edge (never heard of it) for my front panels. So far invested, only $30. So, I hook them all up and nothing happens. Little clip on little hook, big clip on big hook, idiot proof, right? Apparently I'm worse than an idiot, I'm a noob, my first time, a novice installer, but it shouldn't be that hard (I didn't install the new clips that came with the speakers, I left the old ones on). There is a 200W Coustic Amp mounted under my seat, that I can't get to to check for loose grounds, but I heard that might be it. With the old speakers, sometimes the radio would work, sometimes not, but now, not at all. I have the Honda factory tape deck in it, and I am planning on replacing it with a JVC CD player. I hope this is enough to get an idea of what wrong.

Two more questions:

1. I bought some cheapy $5 tweeters, where do I put 'em?

2. $30 for the Boss's a good deal? Anyone heard of Street Edge? [Confused]

Street Edge is a entry level Memphis product.
Tweeters would probably work best on the "a" pillar.
As far as no sound, you're gonna have to get to that amp and check it out.

i had the same problem in my 91 hatch. i just unpluged the deck and speakers and everything started workin it was weird. the only time i have any problems is when i open the door all the way some times the drivers side speaker cuts out i could fix it but im lazy [Razz] if that dosent work u might have to run new speaker wire from the deck to speakers
