Guys guys guys... I ran an Audiobahn Alum12Q a few years back in a 3"X13" round ported 2.54ft^3 box at 119 & 122 decibals with a JBL BP1200.1 amp bridged and with series wiring for the one sub.
I just bought another Audiobahn, the Alum12N(didn't do too much homework so don't rag on me if you don't think audiobahn is the way to go) because I'm tired of not having bass in my truck anymore, and now I'm trying to decide what size to go with.
Now...my box will not be a square box, it'll be cut to fit perfectly over the recessed area and at a slant from the back of the seats while allowing enough floor coverage not to hit the seat belt mounts. The trouble I'm having is exactly how much volume I need for two different boxes, one for a sealed, and one for a ported. On the ported I also need to know whether I should do slot-ported or just round ported. I already bought some 3" diameter pvc pipe, which is exactly the same size I used on the Alum12Q 3 years ago. I'd like some ideas on where to put the port(slotted or round) on the box with all the crazy angles and dimensions I have.
I haven't studied up on this stuff in quite a while, so I'm kinda rusty. I appreciate all your help and info, I've been surfing the net today just trying to find a website that will show me, in pictures if possible, what I need to work on to build the right box. Oh, by the way,I'd like a tune of 32Hz. I can provide any info on my sub itself if you need it. I don't think I have the papers for my JBL BP1200.1 amp anymore.
Later fellas, The Bird
