I've spent so much time designing and buildin these doors and now I'm stuck with minor installation issues.
I've built enclosures for my 8's into my doors . .65 cu.ft sealed and it sounds great. I was hopin durin my time of buildin and test someone would answer one of te many post I've put up on how hard it would be for me to install power windows and locks into the doors myself. Right now I'm manual everything.
I have electronic knowledge, I've just never installed such equipment. Also:
Should I put in my on power equipment before I get a new alarm, or after? If not before, should I try to purchase the upgrade with the alarm? Can I buy the factory power accessories and install them on my own, or would they be "inferior"?Should let a shop istall everything and build my doors afterward?
I'm sorry to be askin so many jumbled questions. I've just been askin for months (On other sites ), and got diddly. Can someone please lend me some helpful info?
This door sounds so badass!!! I want dis done

The locks arent that hard but you need to know how to use relays because their needed for the locks to function properly. The power windows are a little harder but if you get a kit from a reputable company like SPAL, their kits come with detailed instructions and are pretty reliable. Just intend on spending about a day on the install of the power windows since it would be your first time, I did a few of em on cars at my old shop. What kind of car do you have? The power locks would be easier to install with the alarm so that they can be controlled by it. If installed correctly and depending on space the power acc. shouldnt affect the door panels at all.

Relays huh! Never been a problem......different application though...
It's a 98 Honda Accord. I was actually wonderin if I could just use the poweraccessories from another Accord. I see them on the internet all the time. I just don't know if any of the wire's already run. Or if it will just bolt in?
ANy suggestions?

I couldnt tell you if your car allready has the power acc. wires allready ran but if you just look at your cars wiring you should be able to tell if it has the extra connections or not but if it does it would be easier to install than aftermarket. The cars that I did we just put in aftermarket averything.

power door locks are relatively straight forward. if you know relays pretty well, it's cake.
Power windows are also pretty easy. It just depends on what kind of switches you are using. But before yuo run out and buy an aftermaret window kit MAKE SURE YOUR WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN SMOOTHLY!!! If the crank takes alot of effort to turn, you aren't going to be happy on how the windows function.

I took off my back door panel to check out the inner wokings of the door........ but i guess when i reassembled the door I didn't properly clip in the door lock latch, because when my kid went to lock the door the whole damn thing fell inside the panel.
And yes he got it locked!!
Door won't open now........at all!! Anyone have any ideas on what I can do? I'm tryin not to cut the panel and have to make new ones.....Please help!

First relax man....breath... ok.
See if there is any way that you CAREFULLY remove the panel. if not, take off the other rear panel to get an idea of how you can manage a slim jim (not the beef stick!!) to unlock the door.

Kinda regret puttin the other clips in properly
Tried slim jim, but from wut I see the whole rod for the lock fell.....
Wow....
About the only thing I can think of is pulling the other rear door panel off and closely studying how you MIGHT be able to bend a thin rod into a shape that will slidedown the window gap and release the lock catch.
Good luck.
