I'm installing a big system in the trunk of a 78 caprice and wanted to know what problems I would run into by installing 12- 10" subs in it. I can get the airspace sealed. What's the best way to prevent cancellation of soundwaves. What would happen if I just fired them all straight up. The subs should have plenty of power, I can run all of them together @ .67ohms on a Hifonics xx Cyclops, about 333 watts each. Any suggestions would be appreaciated.

O,and this is not my idea of the best setup. I'm doing this for someone else. I tried to convince him that he would be much better with two 18's. but he just wants more subs. any advice would be great, thanks

another thing, we already have the 10's, used, I just don't know much about speakers firing toward each other(that is if I have to do that) How bad would that be, really, I need to know. I'm just looking for any advice on whats better in this type of situation. comments, funny remarks, I think anything would help. thanks

I think the best way to go with a Box Chev like that is old school-> 10-10's on a slam board!
I've done it before but not with 12 speakers. You face all the speakers towards the rear of the back seat and tunnel all the sound up and through the rear deck.

What do you mean when you say "slam board". seal the box? don't think i would have room for ported. Do you tunnel the sound with just Mdf and foam, things of that nature. what's best? thanks

O, I see, a baffle, I think I will try a combination of the tunneling the sound with a big sealed box in the back, I just don't like the idea of leaving the back of the subs open to the trunk area, more rattles and such. I can get alot more airspace by glassin the bottom of the box, cause of all the curves. Then do the rest in mdf. I can shove all the subs up towards the rear deck, four across and three deep. Tunnel from the top of the box to the rear deck. Maybe this will help eliminate the sound bouncin all around. okay thanks, i do believe i have my work cutout for me now. I'll prally show a few pics later of this wierd situation, as I make progress. o yeah, that 80's isht, is wack, how times change. thanks again.

Back then we used cans and cans of expanding spray in every nook and cranny. Had to be careful how much you put around the trunk lid seams, too much and it would ding your trunk lid.

LOL, you drive a 78 Box Chev but knock the 80's I had one of those too but a two-door back in 1985 and now everyone wants them so times really haven't changed too much.

with that many subs just buy another vehicle for about 500 to 700.00$ like a van or an old volvo wagon, and wall it! or a 4th order bandpass, that is if u are going for spl! or street beating.decision is yours!
