People,

Help please.. I'll use the Z1 amp as my model...

I have one Dual coil 2 ohm sub.. I want to connect 4 amps to it. after connecting 2 strapped Z1's to each coil, how do I set the gains so I don't over power one coil and fry the woofer?? This will be for an all out competition car..No music at ALL!!!

umm, for starters, welcome to the forum my far far east coast brother.

Secondly, check out Digital Design's website and look for the link to THEIR forum. They have tons of Z1/Z2 advice and tips. You should be able to get the information you need straight for the European Horse's mouth.

Good Luck. Btw, if your running Atomic APXXs, your not going to fry that coil. You also made a wise choice in amps. Nothing but good things being said about the Z1.

Me, personally, Strap the amps, wire them to the subs and turn a test tone on. Set it on repeat and low volume.

Put a meter at the output terminals where the speaker wires are connected to the amps and try and adjust your gain and bass boost settings so that both pairs of amps are feeding each coil and equal amount of voltage.

Good luck.
