First off I want to say it is great to be back in the states!!! I've been overseas for the past 4 years and it feels sooo good to go into car audio shops. Anyway I went into a shop in Norfolk Va that used to be really big into RF, (they dont carry it anymore) I asked them why they dropped RF and they told me that since the amps are made overseas that they are not near as good as the old ones. do you guys think they still pound like the dsm series and even the old old punch series?? I'm kinda getting the empression that they are upset at the fact that mega retail stores like crutchfield and best buy sell them now. Also I ran across a guy who is selling an fosgate 50.1 fairly cheap, I,ve known this guy for years so I know he wont rip me off what do y'all think of this amp?? (it's crome plated also)

I heard a similar rummor, and called rockford fasgate to find out for my self.
He told me that everything is made in the same factory in arazona as it has always been. Some of the parts are made overseas, but the final product is made in the USA.

I think Tech Man or another of the demi-gods on this page took one of the new RFs apart and said that it was still a beast. The big difference seems to be that they are listed at near their power ratings. Instead of the Punch 60 being listed at 30x2@4 Ohms/60x2@2 Ohms, it'd be listed around the true amount of 60x2@4 ohms, etc.
Oh well, I'd still pick one up.

Oh I see they are just pissed, That is a relief because I already have two fosgate amps, an 45.2 and a 55.2 I purchased these when I was designing a system for novice 0-100 but know that it's 0-150 I can add another amp. And yes it is a power 50.1 from what I've read about them it will push my three dvc tens nicely!!!

All the RF stuff is assembled in the great state of AZ, with some parts coming from overseas, just like cars do. Honda makes cars here, well, they assemble them anyway. Just because parts are outsourced doesn't mean they're not high quality. If they dont meet Fosgate specs, dont expect to find them in the amplifiers. Tech said that the new amps are built seriously well. I trust his word.

I would like to say that if I see any signs of RF failing in quality in any way that I will tell you guys. My brand loyalty is not so strong as to cloud my judgement. I have noticed streamlining going on in design and manufacture but I haven't seen reliablility or power being affected by it. If it does later I'll post what and how it's a problem.
