I was looking in getting a new altenator when I went to the shop I normally go to and the guy said that instead of paying all that $ for an altenator that I should just go with the C.A.P.(15 farad). He said the the C.A.P. would be just as good and cheaper then installing a new altenator and battery. Any suggestions as to which one, has one one ever used the C.A.P. before?

I would say definately go with the new alternator. Capacitors only provide short-burst power, while alternators provide constant power(as long as your engine is on) also, when capacitors are drained, they become resistant while trying to charge up again. go with a good, high powered alternator.

That honda is actually really easy to put a new alternator on, yes it may be more expensive, but you get constant current rather than a quick shot . Also caps tend to loose capacitance value over time, after seeing that thing, it couldnt be much cheaper than a good alternator .

Well I agree....The C.A.P. is cool but it dont do what a alt does. If you have a problem that requires even considering a alt then I dont see how a cap will fix that.....But again I dont know the original problem or how bad it was.
