OK, here's the deal... I just recently started work at Dow Stereo/Video here in San Diego, I work in the home audio/video department and have only a basic knowledge of mobile electronics. But, since I started I've been quickly gaining interest in the mobile field. Now, I would like to put together a system and need some opinions. Some of the brands we carry are...

Alpine
Pioneer
Clarion
Kenwood
Sony ES
Rockford Fosgate
Xtant
JL Audio
Boston Acoustics
Monster Cable

I also have access to the following but it would be more expensive. I would rather choose from the list above but if anything below is worth the extra cash I'll definitely consider it.

Infinity
Phoenix Gold
McIntosh

I'm looking to put together a complete system and my focus is on SQ and SQ+. But I want good SPL aswell. Please let me know which items from the brands above are worth looking at. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Most of those names are great, but a few happen to stick out in relation to SQ:
Clarion headunit, xtant amps, fosgate or JL subs, and if you want to make that one leap above xtant from your list do the ultimate sq amp, McIntosh... just my opinion. Good luck

I use Rockford for all of my stuff, headunit, amps, subs, EQ... It sounds better than most other systems I have contact with... I know Tech Man also has an all RF system and he does Great in competition, well according to him that is, hehehe just joking Tech... But I do have a soft spot for Pioneer headunits, you always remember your first...

You can't go wrong with any of them, personally not a Sony fan, but they are all good/great components to choose from.

If I had the wallet for it, I'd go with McIntosh, just because Big Macs not only rule baseball , but they are so damn clean!!! Bigger than most compact cars though, only problem, and they're expensive as hell, but those two negatives aside, you're left with one hell of a good amp .

Any will do just fine, especially Fosgate .
