I'm currently using a punch 400(50x4) to power my tweeters and mids(front & rear). I plan to buy two punch 500's to power my 2 kicker 12 solobarics. My problem is how much current will my amp require? A change in alternator is not an option. How many batteries should i add and how should i wire them? How many db max would i reach?

A Punch 500a2 on a solosuckit = blow sub lets make this easy "on me" and just say the 500's put out 500watts each "which the do more" 1000watts total so that is somewhere around 120amps then the 400a4 is another 50amps so around 170amps needed "ballpark figure" To be in the safe zone I would get 4 batteries for the sub amps. But for that money you could just get a 200amp alt and run your system at 14volts
