This is a dumb question, but is there any difference in power wire vs. ground wire? I know they should be different colors. Also would it be safe/logical to run 3 amplifiers wired (4 guage) to a ground distro block with 1/0 guage to the ground point?

No, Yes.
There is no difference in ground wire and power wire. Electricity dont know the difference. The only reason we use different colors, is so that we know the difference. Just be sure to keep them the same size. If you use a 1/0 power then use a 1/0 ground.
as for the single ground point, there is nothing wrong with grounding all the amps to a distribution block and then taking a single larger wire to the ground point.
