Ok, I can't figure this out and get good help on this decision and maybe you guys can help.. i heard you guys were good.. I just bought a 1989 Black Blazer and need help setting up good bass in it. Here is what i would like to setup.. this speaker/box combo http://justwoofers.com/Boxes_Loaded_Pages/Visonik/Visonik_BP.htm with this amp http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1377349979
Now the probelm comes in here.. some people say that bandpass doesnt sound good.. How do ya think that setup would sound? I listen to mostly Punk/Rock/everything else. This guy i know says that this would sound better.. this box/subs http://cardiscountstereos.com/Catalog%20Page.asp?Product+%23=ABB102Q witht his amp http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1377349979.
Now which setup should i use to get the best sound in my Chevy Blazer? And would 600-800watts be ok to run off stock alternator/battery? Any other ideas welcome but i have been trying to get strait answers from people on which type of box sounds best in a blazer and i cant get a strait answer. Here are some pics of my blazer now and what is in it.. i am gunna sell the amp, subs and boxes and get all new.. my limit is $500.

Get two Kicker comp vr 15",and a American Legacy 1400 watt amp.Legacy sucks, but for the money it will do the job. I had this setup at one time,in a 10cf enclosure tuned to 30hz for street bass and did a 144db.

i also own a blazer. what you do is:

buy 200pyramid subs and cram them in there.. (its pyramid. you don't NEED a box). then go buy 1 rockwood1000 and jam like a mofo.

in all seriousness though. a couple 15s in a ported box w/ 500watts per sub will get really loud in a blazer. trust me =)

Thank you. I though my install was ghetto [Smile]

To fix it, I'd recommend 1 big 15 (ie. dd9515 or similar) if cost allows, big ported box and a nice 1000-1500w amp

Elemental Designs 15" SP with JBL 1200.1 AMP in ported box. Nuff said. If your budget is to tight, go get their K series. You can get two tweleves for $245ish and they'll take 600W easily. Very underrated sub.

I have a 96 Blazer and I'll either be putting in either two 15" K series running off a the 1200W or four 12" K series running off the 1200W. These are very cheap (priced) subs and they will easily destroy the system you have in your car now, especially will knock that wood down holding it up lol [Big Grin] But really, in all seriousness (that a word?) two 12" K series would do you fine.

I too own a blazer, mines a little older, 92 s10. Before I had 2 15w3's in it ran by a 81000D. Sold the subs, or I thought I did...sold one anyway, thinkin about keeping the other one. I recently bought a DD 9515 and will be installing that soon powered by the 81000D. Yup, will get pics once its finished!
