ok i have pretty decent stuff but i've got a problem...

2 - RF 12" HX2 Punch Subs in a 4.0ft^3 box
1 - RF 800.2 Amplifier
Alpine CDA-7894 MP3 Deck

ok here's the deal..the amp is bridged and the gains on the amp for each channel are set all the way up and when i turn the little "Punch Bass" remote knob for the amp all the way down i get BARELY any sound coming from my subs even when my deck is turned up about 60%. whenever i have the deck turned up to 60% roughly and the punch knob is turned up all the way then it hits decent but i shouldn't have to use the punch knob to achieve sub output. do i just need to set my gains down waayyyy far or what?

find out how many volts your head unit puts out and try to set your gane to that. if you can't tell jsut put both ganes in themiddle that works most of the time.

you shouldent have to have the punch bass up for your subs to play plus you dont want it past half way anyways. check if your radio has a sub woffer control on it and see what that is set to. after that make sure you have the little card on the bottom set to low pass.

if all that does not work see how you have the subs wired you might have it hooked up wrong and not getting any power to the subs.

may not also be getting enough power to your amp, check the volts that your amp is getting, try disconecting one sub and just running 1, if it plays good, then it might be your wiring or your amp isnt big enough to run the pair....

you have 2 subs on a 2 channel amp that is bridged? try running the subs in parallel, and dont bridge the amp. im guessing you know how to run them in parallel....if not post back........

here's what i can do with my 800.2 amp...

200 W X 2 @ 4 Ohms RMS @ 1% THD

400 W X 2 @ 2 Ohms RMS @ 1% THD

800 W X 1 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS

here's what each sub can handle...

Power handling (RMS) - 500 Watts

Power handling (Peak) - 1000 Watts

Impedance - 4 Ohms

what would you recommend?
