Here is the situation; I have a 99 Acura TL that comes with a Bose system that sounds like crap, and a real cool navigation system. The way the system is set up and because of the size and strange shape of the factory head unit it is not practical to buy an aftermarket head unit. I purchased a Clarion EQ andI want to use it to supply the signal to the amps, does anyone have any suggestions or opinions. P.S. I have a Sound Quest Match Maker that I used in my old car to do the same thing, but that car did not have a bose head unit.

You should be able to find on the market, an adapter that will do exactly what you need it to. If memory serves, Nakamichi has a hand in one of those fancy schmancy car makers, but it may be infinity or lexus.... Anyway that deck should sound ok. I would suggest a preamp, this way you could integrate not only the factory deck, but you could have a changer somewhere, with volume bass and treble and the like controlled by the pre-amp. You would not lose any sq by using the factory cd through the adapter at comps either.

Y'know, you could just get the Alpine changer controller unit (looks like an FM but is all line level) and run it with a 6 or 12 disc. I'm doing this in one of our cars with an older Alpine controller and it works great - you get full quality sound and it's totally stealth.
