I need my front stage to go a little lower because I only have a RSB 215 component set right now with 5 1/4's and tweeters.

I want to put a set of 6.5's in my doors what would a good choice of speakers be?
I'd like to be able to get 2 2Ohm speakers and have x-overs with them and spend no more than 250 for both.

I was thinking about
OZ, Ads and focal do these companies sell this type of set up?

Any sugguestions welcome..
thanks a lot..

Why not put your 5.25's in the correct box, then lower your crossover point? My a/d/s/ 5.25's crossover at 65Hz, are in .15f3 boxes tuned to 70Hz (thanks Dukk) and sound wonderful! Of the mids you mentioned, none that I know of are made in the 2Ohm variety. The Focal's can be had in 4,6,or 8Ohm models, though they vary greatly in SQ between them. The Oz's are a good low to mid range performer, but the a/d/s/ A-series 6 will blow away Oz's sound quality. Even though the a/d/s/ doesn't sound as good in the midrange as the Oz does. The Focals are awesome pretty much through all the ranges up to about 4K, then, to me, fall flat on they're face.

I have a A404 running my front stage..
Does anyone know the specs of this amp..
I don't have the manual and I'm not really sure, but I think the off of each channel at 4 Ohm it puts out 100 watts each..

I have a mb Quart component set up front thats 2 4 Ohm speakers in my 2 way x-over is that a 2 ohm stereo load on each front channel. thats the same as 4 ohm right..
and the rear I want to use to run my 6.5's in my door and I want to get 100 watts into each of these speakers so how would I do it if I can't find 2 2 Ohm speakers and wire them each on a different rear channel?

Could always go with Orion 6.5s. Or, you could go to Crutchfield and pick up a pair of Kappa 6.5s or RF Fanatic Q, X, P 6.5" mid-bass drivers less tweeters. They are not 2 Ohm, but the highest-end line of RF 6.5s take damn-near 100 same with Kappa. Infinity Betas take over 100, but they're sold out .

much luck,

ub
