I figured I would get this started early since finals will be in a new town that I happen to live in!!
Location Cleveland International Exposition Center This location is absolutely huge, with an indoor ferris wheel that goes through the roof, but there is nothing that you can walk to from the convention center.
Airports Cleveland Hopkins Airport (CLE) is next door and Akron-Canton Airport {CAK) is about 45 mins away and may be an alternate airport for some.
Port of Cleveland The Port of Cleveland has Customs services and does have International facilities which may alow foreign competitors to ship their cars directly to Cleveland. One of the biggest International shippers into the Port of Cleveland is the Netherlands Shipping Industry http://www.portofcleveland.com/
Hotels Most hotels are at least 10 mins away by car so if you are flying in or have to leave your car in the center overnight you WILL need transportation to go anywhere.
Public Transportation There is no public transportation to/from the IX center. Some hotels may run a shuttle to the location but Cleveland RTA does not have service at this time. WWW.RideRTA.com
Closeness to Sam Horn and whirlyball Around the corner! Sam knows how to throw a goooood party!
As the year goes on I will try to update this.
**All "Luin Haden" edited was the title** **1/13/05 Fortunz changed the references to Public transportation and added airport/transportation links** **1/14/05Added Port information**

Sounds like the facility will be great, but sucks its not within walking distance of anything. Especially for those of us that usually are stumbling back to our rooms those nights

Don't state things if you don't know the facts. This is being worked on at this time. So dont post if you don't know for shure.
Aaron I am stating PUBLIC ie. Cleveland RTA,not what DB DRag will arrange. I am just trying to point out some things that might not have been thought about yet.

Depending on the location of the host hotel there are many bars and other hotels within stumbling distance.

It looks like a decent hotel but I think its a bit farther then 2 miles away from the IX center its close to 10 mins away I think.

what is there for a family to do if wife and kids don't want to go to the show? Nice thing about Nashville is things were in walking distance. Have to remember not everyone goes to the bars.

There is the Great Lakes Science Center, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and tower city a short train ride downtown. There are I think 4 Shopping Malls within 20 mins. Cleveland Zoo and Rain Forest are about 20 mins away.

I've been to Cleveland for business many times. This will be very dbDrag friendly. There's plenty to do, more than what's in Nashville. Steve, the zoo is a great place for the kids. The roads are very easy to get around (guys who have to trailer). Don't worry about the transportation thing. During conventions many (if not all) downtown hotels offer shuttle services. A taxi from most downtown hotels is at most $10 for 2 people. I hope everyone will give this an honest chance. Let the promoters continue to work on it. I have a good feeling about what I've heard so far.

Actually, I have contacted wayne about possibly working out a deal for us to bring that party bus I had a camp post about on here.
I think it would rock to have that as a shuttle bus all weekend, to and from the hotel, and then that night, from wherever the party is, to the hotel. Then no drinking and driving, etc. The bus has a bar of course, but it would have to be BYOB, but still. Bangin system, video, neon, a bar, what more could a bunch of dB Dragger want??
With a few people standing, it can easily shuttle 30 people at a time!
What does everyone think?

I appreciate the effort being made here but we do not have enough local information for this thread to be considered "official" at this time. I am closing this thread until we have more information related to hotels, entertainment, etc.
Once again, thanks for the assistance.
