what is this about? do you agree or disagree?? and think hard before you reply!!
after all the work wayne put into these meters to make them unquestionable I guess that doesn't matter anymore, to make sure everyone had the same chance no matter where they where in the world. say you cannot get off of work 3 days every week to go do shows? Now you cannot go to finals!! it would not matter how loud you were either!!!
I donot agree!! But I also am one who said that we should have no control over the rules! so this may be the time to let the chips fall where they may!

kinda hard to decide if the shows were like last year it will be bad for people that cant make them. if the shows are limted it may help to get everyone there as they would have to make the show.

I said the same thing about not changeing the rule because of people complaining but I had no idea that this was going to be one of them. I do not like it! But I will have to say the same thing let the chips fall were they may I did good to get a 100 points last year and my team mate almost didnt get his so we might not make it this year.

terry I have been to many certified events and our meter and every other meter we have been on all year have been within 0.1 dB
I know I have seen posts about 0.7 differances from U.S.B to .net But I have not seen it and I doubt i will!! I am not argueing with you or attacking anyone that says there is a differance but if you take notes the way our team does then you should have the same results everywhere you go!!!!
people said that the termlab of STEVE BENTONS was 0.7 dB high at USACI they better check a little better!! the toyota did the same EXACT score it did at WORLD FINALS!!!! and the same score it does on our USB just like the rest of the cars we took to BOTH FINALS!!!!!
IF there is a differance in someones meter it is because they donot take proper care of their equiptment!! I donot think it is the meters!!!!!

i for one like the idea of certified scores, but let me play devils advocate... everyone with 100 points the past two years has gotten a world finals invite...

I like the way you read the proposal!!! if in fact you need to get a certain amount and not be in the top 15 in points then it will work just fine and I withdraw my post all together!!! I mean if we need 100 or 150 points to go and thats it AWESOME!!! that would make for alot bigger turnout at finals!! which is what we all want!!

i do think slots at finals is important and there needs to be a way to get the slot in score order... the ones that did the best during the season should be the last to go up...

But are the people that dont have a chance in hell of even placing at finals going to go anyway. I dont think that this is going to draw more people. Say that in street A 10 people are doing 150 and above then all the rest are doing below 150. How many people are going to spend all that money and not even make brackets? I knwo that this in 04 alone the people that were loud enough and some that were not wouldnt even go so I dont see this working.

Agreed 110%! This may be the reason for the move of Finals to a much larger location.
Regarding the meters, there is a difference. The day after receiving ours, we compared directly to 3 others USB's and the difference varied from .1-.4. Then the difference from the USB to Sam's TL was .7. The results were the same using each of our team vehicles. BUT, they read that way consistently, so we know when we gain etc and that is what matters. Hell, I wouldn't care if our USB read 6db over the TL, if it's consistent that's all that matters.

thats right, but with no certified score, this eliminates the way the slots are done...

I think they will go. Just making it to Finals has been a great accomplishment in the past. I don't know it it will be looked upon in the same manner with this rule change, but if Wayne rewards World Finals attendees like he did this year then this will be the biggest World Finals ever.

I think that with the change to the bigger venue and the fact that he said more people will be invited indicates that it will just be everyone over a set amount of points. I think this will add to the sandbagging though, I see alot of wins by .1 or .2 this season.

Danny, look at it like this. If no min.(100) points are needed, then Wayne can invite more competitors. You would not need to go to as many shows. If you look at last years SS1-2 the top 25 in the world did not have 100 points.( going by points) So, Wayne could invite the top 25-30 or more in each class without people bitching that tey did not get their "100 points"
And a note on the meters. I was at 2 shows where the used a usb and my meter was .7 higher. I went from the lane back to my trailer and used my meter to see why I had lost and I had not lost, it was there meter. At finals my meter was dead on with Db drags.

This will also help out those who "play the game" and not show their score until finals. No one will know who is the loudest until the final rounds.
I have plenty of sandbags laying around here if anyone needs them!!!

there are way to many people that I respect saying that they themselves have seen a differance from their meter to others!! but I still think it is poor care of equiptment that is being used at the events. anyway I am sorry for saying anything about the 0.7 dB to everyone I guess just because I haven't seen it in 2 years that doesn't mean it doesn't exist!!!
so will we still have to set world records at 3X events? so if I offended anyone I am sorry!!
as for the certified scores I am still upset because there will be no way to set standings at finals!! I do want more people to attend finals, but will there be more???

i have seen nothing that says no certified scores. the only thing i have seen is that finals invitations will be based on points only. Can someone please guide me to where it says no certified scores

Certified scores and the leader board are what make dbdrag so much superior than the other organizations that have scores meaningless until finals. I think no certifieds is a horrible idea so I'm with you Danny. I've seen around .2 variation maybe but I agree that user error is the cause most of the time. Why after all this talk of no changes are there a million unwanted changes being proposed. I don't get it.
