I WAS IN STREET C LAST YEAR AND I HAD A CRX RIGHT.NOW HOW CAN I FIT 8 AMPS, 4 12'S AND 1 BATTERY ALL BEHIND THE B-PILLAR OF A CRX???? IF I WANTED TO STAY IN STREET C, WILL I HAVE TO BUY A SUV TO FIT 8 AMPS AND 4 12'S? CRX'S ARE GENERALLY CHEAP, BUT NOT SUV'S! PLUS WITH ALL THE EQUIPMENT IN THE BACK, YOU PROBABLY COULDN'T BUILD A DESIRABLE BOX! NOTE: IM ONLY TALKING ABOUT STREET C....

If you can't fit 8 amps in a CRX then it's not really a problem is it? If anything you will see a broader spectrum of vehicles that are able to compete. If you were given a choice of a full size suv and 8 amps vs. a CRX and 4 big amps I don't imagine you are going to drop the CRX. GREAT IDEA WAYNE!!!

You are not going to get banned for stating your opinion. But, please explain your position. We really want to do what is best for the competitors. If that means leaving things the same, then that is what we will do. But you need to state your case so that I can understand your position.
If we leave the amp limit in place, then monster amps will ulitmately rule at Finals.

well for street c and maybe b. keep it the same i dont think it is possible to fit 4 crowns in any vehicle. but street a i think the new rules will work. but b im not to sure if you can really run two monster amps on one battery.

I realy dont know what to tell you Wayne one way or the other there are going to be problems. If the rules stay the same you are right Monster Amps are going to rule. If you do change then some people are not going to be happy. We know that you can run a crown off 1 batt so if you allow a amp like that then not much of anyone has a chance with the smaller amps. One way or the other someone is not going to be happy. There has to be a way to make the playing field fair. Mabe some good imput here would help.

agree with Jeff and Jason on this one. It is more expensive to have unlimited amps.
Here is a GOOD example with $$ figures:
Street B - 2 12's, so 4 conductors. Unlimited amp scenario
Competitor A has 4 1000d amps that he straps into pairs. so 2 amps per sub. in total he's got 4000 watts. Each one of those amps can be had for about $300, so total is $1200
Competitor B has 4 SPL dynamics 3000d amps that he straps into pairs. so still 2 amps per sub. in total he's got 12,000 WATTS!!!! An EXT 3000 or a few amps that are VERY similar can be had for about $1000 each give or take competitor cost or dealer cost. so that totals to $4000
Now looking at these figures who do u think is going to win???? Also why do u think that person will win besides the fact that they have more power???? ...THE FINANCIAL ADVANTAGE.......this is not the way to derive a winner in any sport.
Here is the Limited Amp version
Same Class, same conditions.
Competitor A Gets 2 Earthquake D3's which can be had for about $500 each. total power of 6,000 watts and cost of $1000. (Note this is already a better than the previouse scenario for this competitor with respect to both, power and cost)
Competitor B doesnt care about the cost, he wants the best and biggest amps that fit the rules (one amp in one case) So he can either keep 2 of his Spl dynamic amps or get some 9.0's or even a crown....his power stays in the 6,000 watt region and the cost at the most will be $6,000 (for the crown), or even less if he chooses to go with the other two amps.
Who do u think will win now????? u really cant tell based on the power available to both competitors. Is it cheaper for BOTH?? HELL YES!!!
I hope this clears things up abit
P.S. and like Justin said, if its not broken dont fix it. Just focus on doing away with the '2 in 1' type amps.

Street with unlimited amps favours those with "large" cars, those that can fit multiple amps in and still keep a decent size box.
Great for SUVs not great for small cars.
I cant comment on the US/Australia situations because I havnt competed there but the UK/Europe situation I can. UK has one SUV in all of Street, they are not common cars, its in Street A. All our Street cars are Golf/Rabbit size or smaller, you try fitting 8 amps a box and a second battery in one.
Europe is the same, small cars. They are the norm. You dont get big cars over here full stop, there not practical on our roads.
As for the "Street" class being anywhere near the guys on the Street, its just not anymore. Daily driving with 8 amps in your boot? It just doesnt happen.
And I know someone will flame me for this but Im going to say it anyway.
Street C will be won by a CRX doing big big numbers. 2 x 15s, NW front facing box, 8 amps and 2 batteries. OK it wont be as loud as a NW car with 16V but it wont be far off. So whats it doing in Street if its competitive in NW???

I cannot understand the discussion about Street B. For me it is not important if i can use 4 or 2 amps. 2004 is started with 2xSPL Dyn. EXT 3000. These are the most powerful amps from SPL Dynamics for Street Classes. But the amps cannot give the power which they could do because there is to less power from the batterie. So it has no sense for me to put in 2 further amps! Therefore i have no problem with the new Street rules!
