After going to several db drag shows, Nopi Nationals numerous times, and db drag world finals....nothing there was that impressive.
I think that statment alone says alot. This show is not meant to be like any of those shows. The biggest difference would be lack of stress for competitors. People go to these shows to have FUN. I also have been to and competed at all of the shows you listed above. Remember, this show was not dB Drag. Less stress equals more fun for everyone, competitors and spectators.
ok, my comment was taken completely out of context.
Apologies to all. Both of the hatch cars with Matrix popped off some nice scores, Bo did very well, and I really enjoyed seeing the Blue VW from Team Audiobahn....that ride was sweet . Only saw the other primer van up close for about 2 seconds and didn't get to watch it run.

I couldn't make it because of the Holidays, but it sounds like it was fun. Not too many here have heard my car yet, but astrolade can tell you. I hope to make the show in April that I heard from a post by shaven99ranger

Hmm, sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with a couple of you. I thought the show was great. It was a lot of fun, there wasn't any pressure, no big fights or arguments that I saw, lots of people hanging out - shooting the **** and enjoying themselves.
There was really quite a variety of competitors there. For instance the guy who took second place behind the van with two kicker 18's was a young competitor named Dillon who did so with two Lightning Audio S4.15.VC2 subwoobers and a Storm 2000 watt amp. He was burping at 36 hurts in the Toyota 4 runner. Kind of odd to see a ground pounder thrown in with an extreme vehicle, but looks like he did o.k. (even if he was 14dB down) He went home happy.
Michael Hohl was there with the green S-10, a single Lightning Audio Storm 15 and two Rockford T20001BD amplifiers to take first in his class with a 157.7
We had a couple of other Lightning audio cars there that did very well. I didn't talk with anyone that was unhappy while I was there. If we had more shows like this on a regular basis then this sport would start growing again. Booth space was affordable, entry fees were cheap, and it was fun. It may not have been physically as big as in previous years, but imho was one of the best.

That's cool, I'll admit it was a good show as far as how it was handled and the atmosphere. But the shows we have up here around Columbia at Jamil Temple are about the same size as that one. It was just disappointing to drive 3 hours and it not be what we were used too. No biggie though.
I thought Michael with the Lightning 15 was in a Ford Ranger? He and I talked for a good bit.
But I guess I'll agree that all in all, it was a decent show.
I'm glad to see they downsized the show classes, that was way overdue.

Michael is a good kid and is having fun racking up some trophies. We continue to work on the vehicle to squeeze out more spl. (as everyone strives to do) It's been a tough road in that truck, but is starting to pay off. It is a green S-10 though, tan interior, single Storm 15, two T20001BD amplifiers and 4 Strike batteries. (three are in the back, one is up front)
I am the one that built the system he competes with. He gets his hands dirty from time to time, but the fabrication is mine. It's nothing fancy by any means, but hey it's a daily driver/spl vehicle. We hope to have some major improvements made on the truck by SBN to bring the SPL up more. So I guess that I'll be breathing a lot more MDF dust between now and then!
