Yeah, I will always be of the opinion that port wars does more to hurt our sport than help. It basically makes TRUE SPL numbers seem meaningless to people that don't know whats going on.

My dad was at USACi and knew I was gunning for 180, then saw a car do it with no noise even coming from it with the doors open.

To joe consumer that happens to see something like that, they see us do a 179 and think its no big deal. A guy walked up to me at USACi and asked what I hit, I said a 179.3, he said "thats pretty good" like it was no big thing at all. Kind of sad.... I spent all this time and money for what?

Congrats again Alan on a HARD fought for number.

dont' roll your eyes at me ... you asked, I answered

the statement was made it was the loudest ever recorded score on termlab. I said no it wasn't. You asked where this happend. Sorry, I do not knwo the dates and times, but the "score" was done and has been done a couple times at an Usaci event in the class portwars.

We all know doing a 179.3 legal or 181.3 "outlaw" is more difficult than doing a 183+ in portwars. But such a score HAS been done on a Termlab.

Port wars is not a form of competition, but a joke. At least in outlaw, you are not gonna do a 131 on the dash and a 185 in the kick.

Owens was louder in the kick at USAC finals.

5001-up
Place Points Vehicle Competitor
1 181.40 Owens Scott

I believe he did his port wars score with the sensor in the same position and achieved a 181.5 on that run.

But nontheless.....Congrats to Alan. Absolutely an amazing score comming out of that 1 woofer.

counts as a score, yes

and I was wrong ... a 182.0 db has been the highest " score " recorded on Termlab.

Yea I did the 182.0 with port wars box...I know as much if not more than anyone that port wars is BS. It was done at finals to get a trophy when I had spent all my time that year helping out my roommate with his vehicle. Remember that I used to own an extreme car and hated port wars as much as anyone.

So here's hoping I didnt hurt anyone's feelings by doing that class that year, no harm intended, I've spoke to Mike, Scott, and alot of other extreme guys and I have the utmost respect for all of them and their numbers. I would never try to take anything away from them.
