Totally incorrect.

The user has had no balance problems at all.

This sub was reconed for another reason.

The previous sub had done numerous 170s and multiple deathmatches.

Do not make assumptions on other peoples equipment.

So, what you're telling everyone is that there is no "RISKS" when you alter a cone on the sub. The original post asked if there could be problems with doing what was shown in the pic. You don't have to get defensive about this. No one said that you shouldn't do it, so don't assume I think it was a balance problem. I just pointed out that there are unilateral rubs and a dent in the coil. Everyone else can be the judge on how it happend. Take care and happy holidays.
Nope, I never mentioned risks. Im talking facts about the subs in question.

The original question was about duct tape, there is no duct tape, end of question.

Im not being defensive, Im being factual. Not taking guesses or making assumptions on something I know nothing about.

No one needs to judge how it happened, this is nobody elses concern apart from the owners. The owner is 100% happy with doing this to the cones.

The coil was 100% perfect, no dents, no rubs. I saw this with my own eyes. You must have very good vision to see the coil when you can only see the former in this pic [Wink]

Your first point- You are wrong about there not being any risks when altering a cone. If you can't addmit that then you need to work for a sub manufactuer, b/c you can build a problem free sub.
Second- You are being defensive. My original post was a "be careful" type of post. B/C there is more to it than just layering reinforcment on the cone with this application.
Third- People can try what they want and can be their own judge. And IF you don't like to share your knowledge with others than you shouldn't be on this forum and you are a poor sport. Key word there is "IF". I'm not saying YOU shouldn't post.
Fourth- Yes you are right, that was the former, but I think everyone understood what I meant.
Finally- Yes I have very good eyes, they are what makes me very good at what I do, both professionally and as a hobbist. You shouldn't assume that I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm one of the best competitors in the world and I didn't get that way by making blind assumptions. Stop making this worst than what it was intended to do, just help a fellow competitor out. Please make this the END of the topic. Have a happy new year.

Read all my posts, I have never mentioned risk, be it good or bad. I know the risks.

Call it defensive if you wish, I am being factual.

I am not sharing in this thread, it is not my place to share, it is someone elses sub.
