So we leave bartle hall from the 3x at usaci finals, go grab a bite and get fueled up for the run home. We pull out, and I notice about a block down the road danny isnt there. We call danny, his girl answers, and says the trailer broke. We assumed a blowout or something, no big deal right? So we come back to danny and find this...

Cut a corner a little close, all of that, and this...
All of the commotion caused all of this...
For the front to move, it snapped a 5400lb break strength log chain...

Who ever said it was safer to haul your vehicle - sometimes more convenient because of weight and junk you carry..
Jason lost the entire front hub from the trailer somewhere in Ohio last week. He was stuck in never land until he could get someone to make a house call.
He got the rig stopped and the entire tire assembly came to meet him as he got out of the truck. Thank God, no one was around and nothing hurt and the tires stayed under the trailer until he stopped.
Holy Cow! Were there other vehicles involved?
I am sorry you had problems. It really sucks and there is not a darn thing you can do about it.

So anyways, a big rig wrecker happens by, and uses his winch to lift the front of the toyota up, and set it back on the trailer. We chained the neck down to the receiver hitch so it wouldnt move, and then unloaded the yota. Another wrecker came along and used his winch to pull the avalanche over far enough to get it off the trailer.

While all of this was happening, we called Doug Lundy, and he came down, already towing a vehicle. He went and dropped off the vehicle and came back, so we got the yota up on a rollback to load on the trailer (he has a tilt trailer, toyota is 1/2 wheel drive, didnt quite work out). When the rollback driver picked the toyota up, it actually lifted the front tires of the rollback off the ground. So we get him loaded up, and finally the dude with the portable welder gets there and goes to town on the neck (keep in mind, nothing is going to be towed on it, just trying to get it home for proper repairs). Well the dude shows up with a monster miller stick welder and goes to town...

So anyways, Lundy hauls the yota back to bolivar, everyone gets there ok, yota unloaded, see ya later...
We get home and start unloading the LUV, unhook the chains, jack it up to move the blocks out from under the axle, etc. Well we get one block out, and mike is under the truck jacking up the other side. We pull the block and the truck starts creeping backwards. I am on the trailer, trying to hold the truck, e-brake is set, all that jazz. Well it rolls off the jack, and mike tries to get his hand inside to stop it, truck isnt stopping...I am trying to hold it, you guys have seen me, you know i aint stoppin 8500 pounds, so i bail off the trailer...

You guys may or may not know, the LUV has 71 batteries, all behind the rear axle. It is rolling off the trailer, no one at the wheel (thank god we were all out of the way) and as it comes down the ramps, the front tires come off the ground and the back battery rack digs into the ground, and the tailgate flies open, batteries slide out of the truck, posts break, all kinds of fun stuff, all while the truck is still moving backwards off the trailer.
Luckily, two of the batts caught the rear end and it stopped.
Obviously a huge fire hazard with all the wires and batteries moving around, so we start tearing the truck down, in the yard, in the dark...
