We took ours apart as well and its still in pieces on the workbench. Not because we cant put it back together or anything, just havent felt like messing with it.

last year he didnt have a wall so no need to take it apart, plus he lived like 20 mins from finals

TIP.: Start from the TOP not from the bottom ! Most trophy builders do it like this. But 4 similar long rods together and just slide every part over them. Use the nut to hold it together.
BTW.: They didnt look like 7foot tall...
